Meet Dominic Sciarrino

About
I’m Dominic Sciarrino, an automation and controls engineer with nearly a decade of experience in industrial settings. I specialize in PLC programming, SCADA systems, and process automation, and I’m expanding my expertise into data science, analytics, and software development.

I hold degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from SUNY at Buffalo, and I’m currently completing a Master’s in Data Science & Analytics at SUNY Buffalo State (2026).

This site documents my technical work across automation, data analysis, and software development. If you’re looking for a detailed skills breakdown, see my Expertise page. For hands-on examples of my work, check out my Projects.

Professional Experience
Since 2016, I’ve worked as an automation and controls engineer specializing in PLC programming, HMI development, and industrial control systems. I currently serve as Engineer III at Motion Automation Intelligence, designing and implementing solutions using Schneider Electric (Modicon), Allen-Bradley (Studio 5000, RSLogix) and Siemens (TIA Portal, WinCC) platforms. My work spans PLC/HMI system design, electrical controls, project management, system integration, and technical documentation.

Previously, I spent nearly six years at Allied Circuits as an Electrical Controls Engineer and began my career at Valmet as an Automation Controls Engineer. I also operate Stompbox Electronics, providing guitar pedal repair and modification services while creating educational resources for DIY audio electronics enthusiasts.
